Our main bar is relaxed and cosy; lit with traditional gas lamps and plenty of comfy seating to enjoy a post-work drink or a meal. From the bar you can venture out to the garden, which is covered and heated throughout the colder months. In summer, the marquee comes down and, depending on our wonderful British weather, is bathed in sun.

Upstairs we have a large room with which is often used for hosting events and performances, as well as serving as a dining room on Sundays for our extremely popular roasts. The upstairs room is available for hire and can open out on to the terrace overlooking the garden.

The garden plays host to possibly the most irreverent pub quiz you will ever take part in, as well as occasionally showing major televised events from sports to Royal weddings which we show on our outdoor big screen.

We are Charles and Amanda Yaxley, and we’ve been here at The Lansdown for over 13 years. We hope you find The Lansdown a warm and welcoming local pub, and to us that means a friendly atmosphere for our seasoned regulars and regulars to be. Amanda ensures that the place works like clockwork with the support of Chris, Jamie and Kelly. Charles runs one of the most entertaining pub quizzes you will come across as well as providing great knowledge on the products we sell.

Chris is our bar manager and brings over 10 years of experience with him including a year’s bar management in Australia. With a love for rugby, good food and excellent local real ales he describes The Lansdown as a perfect fit! Stewart is our assistant bar manager, who brings his brand of Cotswold hospitality and a love of great local pubs and football.

Our kitchen team, led by Jamie Morpeth and Dora continues to go from strength to strength. They produce not only a varied and extremely tasty menu, but they make every effort to ensure as much of our produce is sourced locally. Take a look at our Food and Drink page to see examples of our weekly and Sunday menus.
